There is a path between our doorsteps for you to walk through and for me to keep my fingers crossed.
My shadow casts a bright light and the horizon’s right there by my side.

Don’t you hear me knocking?
I can hear you through the walls.
You’re living life with your eyes shut.

Wake up fast asleep, the room’s still spinning and we can’t help but watch the clock tick.

Counting sheep and breathing deep has never worked.
The hours fly but not too quickly, they deceive me.

I tried my hardest to stay calm in disarray, but the only thing I can control is my own disorientation.
You’re all mixed up with this half-hearted honesty, and truthfully I’m taking you with a grain of salt.

Chasing the past that we abandoned.
Optimism - it got the best of us.
